Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #65

Hi Everyone...It's challenge time again.
I've been very busy since last week. I worked all weekend, that means 12 days straight, can't wait for this weekend off. On Sunday night, we went to the Brisbane Convention centre to see Irish band "The Script", those boys are very talented, great live band. Then on Monday night, I went to Suncorp Stadium to watch my fav league team the Brisbane Broncos defeat Newcastle Knights. AND to finish my week.....It's my birthday tomorrow 14 April...YEAY and then Stamp Club of Friday night. WOW!!!
Enough with that...here is my take on the Sketch challenge this week.

I have used all Stampin'Up! products except the Tim Holtz Gadget Gears Die and the Cuttlebug squares embossing plate. I Love Tim Holtz Alterations.

Stamp Set: Family Accessories
Cardstock & Ink: Basic Black, basic gray, going gray, whisper white
Neutrals Designer Series paper
Silver brads, dimensionals, sponges, big shot, Tim Holtz die and Cuttlebug emboss folder, modern label punch, word window punch

Have a Fantastic Weekend. Have a drink for me......

Cheers Everyone.....

MAKING A DIFFERENCE!!!

Making A Difference starts with ONE STAMP SET

Offer strength and hope to those dealing with breast cancer by purchasing the Strength & Hope Set........

Stampin'Up! is donating $2AUD/NZD from this purchase to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. BCRF is dedicated to preventing breast cancer and finding a cure in our lifetime by funding clinical and translational research worldwide.

Lots of you wouldn't know, that I am a Breast Cancer Survivor myself and my mum too. Mum has been cancer free for 17 years now and going strong. My Aunty Hazel(mum's sister), lost her battle at the age of 48 in 1988.
I found out just before Xmas 2004 at the age of 39yrs (a bit too young), I had two different types of breast cancer. I had an operation and treatment and have been in remission now for 6 years.
My darling friend, Kerry(45yrs), is presently going through radiation therapy. They found her spot very early, before it grew into a lump.

PLEASE CHECK YOURSELF - IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW YOUNG OR OLD YOU ARE!!!
OK OK, I've had my say now, I'll get off my soapbox......LOL

So, as you can see, this is a very important cause and something very close to my heart. We have to find a cure for this disease.

This is a beautiful stamp set. Available in clear $28.95AUD or Wood $35.95AUD
Please check it out in the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue page 23

Inkspiration Colour Challenge #64

Hello my Stamping Friends. It's Challenge time, and boy! was it challenging....For some reason I just sat there staring at the four colours and getting no inspiration at all.
I sat there yelling help..help...HELP PLEASE!!
Karlee and Allanna came to the rescue. I try not to use the same stamp sets as the other challengers, so we eliminated heaps and then Karlee just handed me the Pendant Park set.
Her exact words were "Start with this and create MUM - you can do it"
The idea was JUST BE SIMPLE.

Maybe the next thing I have to learn is to be a better photographer. This card is very shimmery and elegant but the photo doesn't show it. I deleted so many photos trying to get it right....Sorry.
I will have to explain what I used.

Cajun Craze for the card base, then layers of Very Vanilla, Poppy Parade, More Mustard - that has been sprayed with Champagne Shimmer Paint(gold), then Very Vanilla on top.
The fern tree image has been colour thumped with Poppy Parade, More Mustard and Cajun Craze then shimmered. The park bench was stamped with Cajun Craze and then shimmered too. Stamped the border in Cajun Craze and added the three gold brads. Lots of dimensionals and it done.
The card is very shimmery and golden but not over powering. The golden accent goes wonderfully with this colour palette. I decided not to put words on this one, I like the clean and simple look this time.

Thanks for stopping by my Blog

April Stamp Club

Hi Everyone..... Hope you had a great weekend. We went down to the Gold Coast to see Nitro Circus, not your normal circus. This one involves FMX and BMX riders performing the most outrageous jumps and stunts in mid-air. Absolutely fantastic......These guys and girls are very talented, and it included some of our local Aussie boys.

Now on to the important stuff... This is the card we made at Stamp Club on Friday night. It involved making these beautiful flowers just in time for Mothers Day next month. I found this tutorial from Joanne Leedy USA. Click here to see the tutorial. I changed to flower shapes slightly.

I used the large flower from Blossom Party Die and the medium and small flower from Birds & Blossom Sizzlit Die. I also used the beautiful new Framed Tulips Embossing Die from the Autumn-Winter Mini. Colours are pretty in pink and pear pizzazz and whisper white.
